Social Media Marketing Intern, Hackney Empire 2026

I was selected as a Social Media Marketing Intern supporting the Learning and Participation team at Hackney Empire. In this role, I contributed to the promotion and delivery of participatory arts programmes through social media content creation, digital marketing support, and event documentation. I captured photo and video content for Instagram and other digital platforms to help promote initiatives including The Studio (Limitless) theatre programme with Hackney Shed, the Artistic Development Programme (ADP) musical show, and The Blessing, a live storytelling and music event. I also support marketing campaigns by developing digital assets, documenting participant experiences, and assisting with audience engagement and feedback collection, gaining hands on experience in arts marketing, cultural communications, and community focused event production within a major London theatre institution.

ADP Conversations

I developed a short form social media interview series designed to capture moments from rehearsals and highlight the voices of participants in Hackney Empire’s Artistic Development Programme. Filmed during the rehearsal process, the series offers a candid snapshot of the creative environment, featuring participants reflecting on their experiences, collaboration, and artistic growth. Created for Instagram, the videos help document the programme while also serving as engaging promotional content that brings audiences behind the scenes of the theatre making process. By combining informal interviews with rehearsal footage, the series showcases the energy of the programme and amplifies the perspectives of the young artists involved.
